Jewel is a darling, very energetic little dachshund puppy. She came to SFCR with kennel cough and a severe eye infection and is feeling so much better now. Jewel loves to play and is full of energy. She is a typical puppy - still working on her housetraining, manners, and that not all items are meant to be chewed on ;) Jewel would do best with another playful dog her size. She would not do well in a home with older dogs who do not like to play as she would be quite the nuisance to them.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Jewel will be available after her spay surgery on 11/9. She is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $650 plus tax. More about JewelGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Playful *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
