Leo is a sweet little fella looking for his perfect forever family. Leo is very timid and skittish so would do best in a home without small children. A resident dog in the home would be a huge plus in helping Leo learn the ropes of becoming a beloved house/family dog. Leo is not used to being on a leash so a fenced yard is a must to keep him safe. Leo is 7 years old, his adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

6/6/2020 Update - Leo's bloodwork revealed that he is hypothyroid so will require lifelong thyroid medication. Leo's thyroid medication runs around $20 for a 90 day supply. Leo is also in need of surgery to repair his left rear leg and will be available once recovered from surgery.

7/21/2020 Update - Leo's knee surgery went very well, he is 12 days post op and recovering very nicely. Leo is starting to put weight on the leg and is using it more and more everyday.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
