Sweetie came to SFCR after being rescued from a SD reservation. She was found by a dumpster and all alone.

She doesn't let her past hold her back though - she was named "Sweetie" for a reason! She loves everybody she meets and is so eager to please. She has a wonderful temperament and such a sweet soul.

Sweetie does well around the other dogs in her foster home but gets a bit intimidated by larger dogs at first. She warms up to them, just needs a little bit of time.

Sweetie is working hard on her housetraining and doing well.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Patient family willing to continue to teach Sweetie manners, basic obedience, and housetraining.
  • Moderately active family willing and able to provide Sweetie with a moderate amount of exercise and mental stimulation.
  • Physically fenced in yard or acreage preferred.

Sweetie has been spayed while in rescue, she tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

More about Sweetie

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Affectionate, Eager To Please

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
