Trixie is a super sweet and typical cavalier. She came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility and is loving her brand new life.

Trixie has done really well with her housetraining and is crate trained. She has discovered that she really likes toys - especially plush squeaky ones. She loves everyone she meets and her tail is constantly wagging.

Trixie arrived to rescue a bit too heavy for her joints - she is on a prescription weight loss diet and has lost a little over a pound. Trixie will need to stay on this food to help her continue to lose weight.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard - Trixie is a breeder release dog and is not familiar or comfortable walking on a harness/leash.
  • Resident dog preferred but not required.

Trixie has been spayed and received an extensive dental (with 7 extractions), she also had a hernia repaired, and was treated for a terrible UTI. She tested negative for heartworm & tick borne diseases, is current on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $550 plus tax.

More about Trixie

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Needs special care, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Even-tempered

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
