Pearl is a sweet little maltese who came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding program.

She does well with the  other dogs in her foster home and loves the freedom of a fenced in yard.

Pearl is working on her housetraining and will need continued consistency. 

Pearl arrived to rescue with horrible dental disease. She had a dental and unfortunately had to have all of her remaining teeth extracted but don't worry! Pearl is feeling SO much better now that the pain and infection in her mouth is gone. She eats well and although she loves canned food, it isn't a requirement. Pearl had senior bloodwork done while in rescue and we are pleased to say that her results came back perfect!

 

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard - Pearl is a breeder release dog and not familiar with or used to walking on a harness/leash, she is also a flight risk and requires a physical fence for her safety.
  • Similar sized resident dog preferred but not required.
  • Home with older, dog savvy kids only (ages 10 & up).

Pearl has been spayed and received an extensive dental while in rescue. She tested negative for heartworm & tick borne diseases, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250 plus tax.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
