Hey! I’m a sweet little dachshund named Finn!

I had a rough start to life but things are much better now that I’m safe with SFCR. My foster mom says I’ve come a long way and have made great progress but I will need a really calm and patient family.

I am crate trained, love playing with toys, and do really well with the other dogs and cat in my foster home. I struggle with submissive urination and wear a belly band to help remind me that I don’t need to potty out of fear. I’m trying really hard but sometimes I can’t help it and foster mom says it will just take time and patience.
I’m really an awesome little fella with so much love to give.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Confident resident dog to help teach Finn how to be a dog.
  • Patient, “low key” family willing to help Finn build confidence.

Finn has been neutered and received a dental cleaning. He is current on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, tested negative for heartworm & tick borne disease, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 plus tax.

More about Finn

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Timid

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
