Goose is such a sweet soul who came to rescue from a very unfortunate breeding situation.

He was so scared when he first came to us but is building more and more confidence each day.

Goose had to have all of his remaining teeth extracted during his dental - his mouth was so infected and painful. He's feeling so much better without them and eats his kibble softened with warm water like a champ.

We discovered that Goose has chronic dry eye - his eyes don't produce any tears. He will require a lifelong eye medication called Optimmune that's applied 2-3 times daily. It makes his eyes feel so much better and will hopefully help him to start producing some tears again.

Can you be Goose's forever family?

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe - no invisible fences.
  • Confident resident dog preferred but not required.
  • Family willing and able to provide Goose with his lifelong eye medication.

More about Goose

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
