Hey there - I'm Maverick!

I only go by Maverick when I'm feeling serious, which isn't very often.

I go by Mav the Cav when I'm feeling cool and Mavie the Cavie when I'm feeling cute.

My life was rough before coming to SFCR but I'm such a happy guy and ready to live like all dogs should.

Foster mom says I am very friendly and just love to be loved.

I'm working hard on my housetraining and doing pretty well - I do wear a belly band to remind me not to mark in the house. This living in the house thing is brand new to me.

Can you be my forever family?

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe - no invisible fences.
  • Confident resident dog preferred but not required.

More about Maverick

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
