Jasmine is a darling little Pekingese in search of her forever family. Jasmine was so terrified when she arrived to rescue and will need a patient family and a low chaos/quieter home.

She has become more and more confident each day but being reached for/picked up is still very scary for her. She never bites or gets nippy at all - just tries to escape and run away. She will need a family that understands this and will give her the time she needs to continue to heal from her past.

Jasmine has become so playful and spunky - especially when her foster mom is preparing her meals. She loves her food! Due to arriving to rescue with horrible dental disease and requiring multiple dental extractions, Jazzy currently eats kibble softened with warm water and a little canned food.

Jasmine mingles well with the other dogs in her foster home and must have another dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes. She is doing great with house training.

 

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Walking on a harness/leash is a work in progress.
  • Resident dog to help show Jasmine the ropes and boost her confidence.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
