Marcy was transferred to us from a local shelter. Her previous owner unfortunately had to go into assisted living and now Marcy is looking for a very special family that will love her as much as she will love them. The transition has been very difficult for Marcy as she was very bonded to her previous owner. Marcy will need to go to a quiet home, without any small children. Marcy will need somebody with a big heart and a gentle touch to help her come back out of her shell.
*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.
Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
