4/12/22 Update: Ricki is blossoming in foster care and has learned what walking on a leash is all about. Her tail wags constantly and she is truly a very sweet little dog.

Ricki came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility.

Ricki is fearful of sudden movements and loud noises and needs extra time to warm up to new people and environments. Because Ricki connects better with other dogs, she will need to go to a home with at least one confident resident dog to help her continue to learn how to be a dog. Ricki will also need a quieter home with older, respectful children only. 

She is a very sweet little girl with so much love to give.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe when outside.
  • Confident resident dog to help Ricki continue to build confidence and learn what being a beloved family member is all about.
  • Home with respectful, older children only.
  • Patient family willing to provide the space and time Ricki will need to continue to come out of her shell.

Ricki was spayed and received an extensive dental while in rescue. She is current on vaccinations, monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
