Carnie is a very sweet little poodle who came to SFCR after being released/retired from a commercial breeding operation. She loves to follow her foster mom around and is learning all about the brand new life put before her.

Carnie is still a bit timid/skittish and startles fairly easily. She would do best in a home with older, dog savvy children only. She is doing pretty well with her housetraining but needs a consistent schedule and frequent potty breaks. She is crate trained and associates her crate as being a very safe and comfy spot.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Confident, similar sized resident dog preferred.
  • Home with older, respectful children ages 10 and up.

Carnie has been spayed and had a dental while in rescue. She is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

More about Carnie

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid, Gentle

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
