Sylvester is a darling little Shih Tzu/Mini Poodle mix puppy in search of his forever family.

Sylvester was born in a SFCR foster home - his momma (Fritzi) came to us as a breeder release and surprised us with puppies. Sylvester's brother was sadly stillborn so we had him stay with mom a bit longer for socialization.

Sylvester is a typical puppy - lots of energy, working on his housetraining, and likes to chew on things he shouldn't ;)

He has had two rounds of DAPP/L4 vaccine and has also had his bordetella vaccine. He will need to go in for one final round of DAPP and his rabies vaccine in a few weeks.

Sylvester must be adopted locally so that he can return to the rescue's veterinarian for his neuter at around 6 months of age.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard preferred.
  • Family with the time & patience needed to train and socialize a puppy.
  • Local adoption required to fulfill neuter contract/agreement.

Sylvester's adoption fee is $650 plus tax which includes his neuter surgery covered by the rescue at 6 months of age.

More about Sylvester

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Playful, Affectionate, Goofy

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
