Notes from Skipper's foster family :) -

Skipper is a curious, loving little lady. She wants to be right where the action is! Loud noises and quick movements might give her a little scare but once she realizes she's okay, she's right back at it. She loves watching TV (reality shows are a favorite, the people are exciting to watch!) and cuddling up with a warm blanket. She would make a wonderful companion for a family with patience and willingness to expose her to new things at her pace.

She's very adaptable, but needs a "safe space" to process all these new experiences. Skipper is currently working on house training. She does wonderful with potty pads, but doesn't quite get the point of "outside" just yet.

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Confident resident dog preferred.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
