Honey is a sweet little breeder release girl. She came to rescue absolutely petrified - human touch was foreign and very scary for her. She has made substantial progress with her foster family but still has a ways to go. She will require a very patient, low-key family to help her continue to build confidence and learn what being a dog is all about.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Small resident dog to help teach Honey how to be a dog.
  • Patient, adult-only home willing to put in the time needed to help Honey come out of her shell and build confidence.

Honey has been spayed and had a dental with a few extractions. She tested negative for heartworm, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

More about Honey

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid, Skittish

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
